This gives me a feeling of mental illness, loneliness, desperation, isolation, hopelessness, confusion and being lost. I really like the image but not the feeling it gives me.

Family trip to NYC over Memorial Day, visited Ellis Island and found they have a 90 minute hard hat tour of the unrestored Immigrant Hospital. Well worth the time and extra cost for me. We toured the contagious and infectious disease section which is the only area currently open to the public, many haunting images to be had. Came upon this walking into a room, I didn't set it up, I'm sure someone in the past did but was lucky enough to be there with the sun in the right spot.

They also offer an 8 hour photo tour where you can bring tripod and lights, thinking I might have to go back again.

Evocative image and well-composed. The colors are harmonious and light and shadow are pleasantly distributed. I'm a bit confused about the chair. Is it alone or does it symbolize an absent person's aloneness? Also, it seems to be rather conspicuously set there to achieve the effect. These niggling doubts temper my affection for an otherwise strong shot.
