Challenge: Color Slides — A Minimal Challenge (Minimal Editing)

Some spring - a bit cold on this day, though around Nikko there were still cherry blossoms because they come out a little bit later than in Utsunomiya, 30 km away down the hill. At least it wasn't windy like the day before. (I'm not a fan of wind.)
Anyway, I tend to associate slide shows with travel photos. We used to have many slide shows after my family's world tour in 1970. Then, after my solo world trip in 1984, I remember having a slide show for my parents' friends who inspired me to go on the Trans-Siberian Railway. That was the year I first visited Japan, and I knew I'd have to go back. As well as TSR, I went on the Trans-Canadian from Winnipeg to Vancouver. Every one laughed when I said. "This is coming into the foo-thills of the Rockies." (Not "foot-hills", you understand.)
All those slides are in storage in Australia, but I suspect they are all ruined by mold by now, though fortunately I made Cibachrome prints of some of them.
Photo processing: I bumped up saturation in camera before taking any photos to make them more slide-like. This photo sharpened and resized, sharpened again, then saved.
Recalling that a roll of slide film would have a maximum of 36 or 37 shots, I limited the number shots per subject. So I ended up with 62 shots, which is less than two rolls of film. |
