 On a recent frosty morning I went to move my car to provide better access to the house for the truck bringing our new furnace, yeah! I was rewarded by finding this intricate design on the windshield.

Thirteen years of exposure to Cape Cod's strong winds and sandy environment have left my Subaru's windshield finely "pitted", leading to lots of localized glare when driving into the sun. I suspect this surface texture facilitated the formation of these icy patterns.
