Thanks to the poets of DPC.
Your facility with constructing/dissembling words is truly impressive. |

stilettos
slice across
the tarmac, the macadam
already squared and parcelled
but at 8 am
they pierce my pupils
and I want to die
of civilization,
of vivisection. |

morning
in suburbia
calm and wearisome
only shadows are traversing
routine |

Angles and strong lines and textures and shadows,
Lessons in shapes taught in suburban meadows,
Quiet I feel at the end of the day,
Translated here in diverse shades of gray. |

shadows, a poem.
Suburbia awakes in a fury
Cock-eyed and head strong,
and smug in its superiority,
cleaner than it should be,
dirtier than it wants to be.
The lines intersect
unaware of mortgages
and divorces, and seedy trysts
in late model sedans and love
cleaner than it should be,
dirtier than it wants to be.
And all the while,
the day in and day out
the sturm und drang
plays it self out
cleaner than it should be,
dirtier than it wants to be,
in the shadows. |
