 Close up of a guitar string wound on the tuning post. Image is under 11mm across. The lens is a homemade macro lens that I created by breaking down an old film era 75-300 mm cheap lens. Two flashes, one either side mounted on a homemade aluminum bracket.

I guess it's the thingy that is used to tune a string instrument (or piano).
