A regular participant in local parades, and festivals. This was taken at the Dia de los Muertos celebration in Carpinteria (on the coast between Ventura and Santa Barbara in California).

The background is a mural on a building along the parade route.

The title is in reference to a character in The Who's rock opera Tommy - Wicked Uncle Ernie.

Delicious high key image. Looks like he's posing before a backdrop. I'm really enjoying this while being contentedly baffled. Maybe it's an in joke. Uncle Ernie, good for you.

Uncle Ernie has returned from the dead? Uncle Ernie really does look good in a dress? Uncle Ernie says it's OK to wear white after Labor Day? OK, I'm going with interpretation one based on the wings. Fun image, and the wingtips make a nice frame for his head.
