 As MeMex2 rightly imagined my reaction to getting a blue ribbon:
"what did I do wrong to get it?"
Of all my pictures a B&W kitchen shot got a blue ribbon; must be my love of cooking or watching someone cooking or the steam covering some technical flaws?!

I do like to participate in most of the challenges. The random topics break a certain laziness of thought

I'm with ubique on this.

I love this one so much - great sense of place and person and moment - and the tones are just lovely. A hearty congratulations on the very well deserved Blue. I would have loved this one in a Free Study or any challenge you could shoehorn it into, which is not always the case in these narrowly defined challenges.

It wasn't a decision not to vote - I just didn't get around to it. Now, looking at some of the entries, your included of course, I realize what I missed. The addition of "black and white" to the challenge brings an extra WOW factor, IMO.

Lovely composition! Starting from the top left and then scanning right until the skillets leading my eye to the bottom left. I can feel the heat.

A real "I feel like I'm there" capture. Congratulations!
I like the grain and I'm curious as to whether you added some in PP or whether it's all due to "atmospheric conditions !!"

I hope you enjoyed a good meal as well as a good capture.

If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen. Nice job capturing what a hectic and hot job it is to work in a kitchen like this.

When I thought about this challenge I wondered if someone would shoot an image like this, so I am very impressed to see this in the challenge. If I knew a chef, I would probably shoot a very similar image, my top pick!
