I never dreamt this would end up on the front page

This is my dear husband when we went to a formal dance. The ballroom was decorated with pictures from Spain, since the theme was "Viva Espana". This was a Spanish dancer with a fan.
I liked the trasition from from head to background - the high key feeling made it somewhat invisible. I had other shots, but this one I liked most.
Maybe it would have done even better when the focus was more on the eye. Unfortunately I had to shoot with very open aperture due to the low light, I couldn't manage to get both in decent focus
