 OK, so this is a winch and not a wench. And, I have proven once again to have the vocabulary of a slow third grader.

When I read this theme I thought I would go down to the Bridgehouse Museum -- they give you a tour of the little house from which they raise and lower the bridge and show you the giant gears and inner workings. However, I got there and found out they are only open May to October. So, I was bummed. I wondered along the river and came upon this barge. I spotted this winch and hopped abourd. Fortunately, it was pretty quiet along the river this cold late afternoon -- I don't think I was supposed to be on the barge.

Ummm... how does a 3rd grader know about wenches?!?!?

I love the rope in this one. Great tones and fun find. I wonder about cropping it down quite a bit -- just above the ball handle?
