 View from the study.. decided to just watch and enjoy this, thinking it would only last a minute, but in fact this set up seemed to last for ages so in end just had to get the camera and shoot. Really is as it was . just a bit of tweaking on the shadows and the temperature.

An appealing image that contributes well to the challenge

That is some view you have from your study, I̢۪m not very envious am I! Calmness and brightness are what your image is all about so in terms of the challenge brief you have fulfilled it well. At first I thought I wish we could see a little more of the detail of the opposite shore but on reflection I prefer it as it is, there is just a hint of interesting detail on both shores, enough to add but not enough to detract. The sun̢۪s rays are what gives the image its impact, I think there is room for a little more contrast to really make it stand out.

An interesting use of light, with the rays playing on the water. The water being not totally smooth to me adds interest to the composition...caught my eye, nice.
