Right on all counts, [user]riot[/user] - you forgot underexposed (though I suppose "dull lighting" subsumes that). I knew coming in it wasn't a great shot but it was Minimal so I decided to play.

The detail is amazing. I wish you'd sharpened it... it's allowed in Minimal.

They're very characterful birds to shoot. Unofrunately, the dull lighting, distracting reflection in the eye, excessively wide composition, and horribly distracting bokeh demonstrating the cage bars of this captive bird, all conspire to waste any potential this shot may have had.
