It's record setting and newsworthy! Trail Ridge Road is open in mid-November. And, there's no snow in the forecast for maybe another week. The scenery is breathtaking! Take advantage of this rare opportunity. The traffic is thin. Canon EOS 5D Mark IV, Canon EF24-105mm f/4L IS II USM, 1/250s@f/16, ISO 400, lens focal length 105mm. 11/07/2016 3:00PM.

Trail Ridge Road spans the Park and connects Estes Park on the east side to the town of Grand Lake on the western slope. It's the highest continuous paved road in the United States, reaching an elevation of 12,183 feet.

(This won't score well relative to ALL those who spent many hours digging through their archived digital photos. The concept of looking backwards is anathema to me. NOTHING is learned by cherry picking from past efforts. The reason I belong to DPC is to benefit from trekking out to capture new photographs, which is what I did for this challenge.)

The classic "S" curve leading to... either a background mountain with little specific interest; or four non-decript cars including one in the far left foreground partially out of the frame. There's beautiful technical work here, but to what end?

I love the leading lines but the mountains are a little bit too saturated for my liking.
