 A 360° Observation Deck
The 46th floor, more than 185 meters above ground, offers an unparalleled view of the city. Observe the Saint Lawrence River, Mount Royal, Old Montreal, Quartier des spectacles, and the Olympic Stadium – to name only a few of the attractions visible from Au Sommet Place Ville Marie.

For this challenge, I decided to offer a B/W composition

An appealing landscape that meets the challenge well.

What a viewpoint Marcel! It doesn̢۪t get much more urban than this! I like the starbursts of light you have from your chosen aperture and the softness of the water from the consequential longer exposure. The composition is good with the river breaking it up. I welcome J9̢۪s comments but I have to disagree with her, there is excellent clarity where it is needed, in fact the only lack of clarity is in the distant horizon, perhaps that is what she means, for me this really is not a problem, it enhances and emphasises the clarity of the foreground. The tonal range of your mono is good but perhaps the river may have benefited from a lighter tone to distinguish it more readily from the distant background, that̢۪s about all I can add, well done.

Your colors and tones are great, it's your lack of clarity, possibly a high pass filter???
