Challenge: Macro Without Bugs or Flowers (Basic Editing I)

This picture was taken whilest making a sandwich, 20 minutes after the rain went away. The leaf wound up on our kitchen's window blinds, and was actually much smaller than it looks.
I hope it doesn't break the rules, since the thing is a plant. It's technically not a flower though, so maybe that's good enough.
I liked the way sunlight filtered through the cracks, and used a little (40%, 2px) unsharp mask and brightness (5) adjustments to bring that out. I couldn't do that and save the sky at the same time, without using selective filtering, so the sky is even a bit more overexposed than it was in the original. Too bad.
I cropped it so that the frame is sort of defined by the leaves two bottom corners, with a bit of headroom. I liked the way the bottom right corner pointed at the corner of the frame, and the way the line of the left side, if follows reaches it too.
Lastly, IMHO the resolution of the original gives so much more info, that I nearly didn't submit it due to the 640 edge constraint. |

| Good idea, but the background composition seems kind'a random. The saturated lower right corner is also a problem, but I understand that isn't easy to fix in a basic editing challenge. Maybe if you had panned the camera to the left, to crop out that corner and instead include more on the left? |

| Nice presentation of leaf - good use of dept of field to show the veins. I like very much your composition, ie not flat on the ground. |

| The DoF is good, as are the colours, but I think I would like the photo more if you'd picked a less cluttered background. |
