After thinking about this one, I came back to look again. I'm working on the theory that one of the differences between the thought processes of a photographer and a painter is in the shadows. In general, I think a photographer is more focused on weakening the shadows so that detail is visible. In general, a painter is likely to see shadows as detail & feels no particular impulse to weaken them. So the thing that mainly makes this look like a painting, for me, is the shadows. |
