What a difficult challenge topic for me...

I thought for six days on it and had NO ideas.

Finally, at the end of day six... after no inkling of an idea... at midnight, I had something, so... I texted my sweet model to see if she was free on "rollover day" (final day of shooting) to shoot. (She works until 2am)

She replied back after 2 am and... said she was in!

Sadly, I saw this immediately and replied.

So... the next day, I went to Wal-Mart (I really, really hate going to Wal-Mart, but Hobby Lobby was closed... since it's Sunday. I approve of their closing on Sundays, but it was a hassle today and the lace is not at all right at Wal-Mart.)

I set out and... met my son and his friend on our driveway, on the way. They stopped and asked me where I was off to.

"I'm going to Wal-Mart for some lace and bubble gum."

"Okay! See you later!" and they drove off.

Wait. WHAT??! LOL!

My family is weird like that.

They don't find anything that I do as being odd.

Maybe they need some help?

Or maybe I do? :D

Anyway, I figured out... after the event... that I should have just blown up a pink balloon instead of getting her to chew and blow. She had a hard time getting a large bubble... and getting it to stay.

Live and learn.

Yep. Live.

And learn.

However, now that I've lived so long... I probably won't remember the next time I need a pink bubblegum bubble.

But... may YOU might!

This has been a Public Service Announcement.

P.S. Ok! I entered... after a half of a day of editing different views. I kept trying to get the background lighter than her black clothing so the person would stand out. It was there in the images... I just couldn't get it.

I came back again and again to look at it.

Then, I had a glass of wine... and looked at it again.

And... that's when it hit me! (I have a black eye now.)

A painter would have a black canvas and only paint what he wanted to be seen. Duh!!

I was trying to do the opposite. For hours.

Re-edit a billion times... to make the "good stuff" what's highlighted.

Wine is good in so many diferent weys. :D

Wait... whut I mean is...

Wine is good is so minny diffrint ways.

Wait. That's not it.

Wine is guud.

Yep. ;)

P.P.S. I'm so glad I saved that size six skirt from a billion years ago when I was cute. I always knew I'd use it again. *rolleyes*

The top is a size large (also too small for me now) tee-shirt with clips to pull in the wrists.

I used double-sided hem tape to put the wimpy lace on the collar.

(Yes, this means that I have three versions with... an unknown amount of edits... and the last version had... fourteen re-edits of that edit. Just in case you were wondering about how anal I am. Or... what a poor photographer that I am.

I'm still trying, though! That's gotta count for... something! Right?!) :D

#glassnumbertwo

errr... three

And... now I'm off to bed.

Treat me kindly, please... folks. :D

Edit: Oh (yeah... didn't actually go to bed, I see). P.P.P.S.

I have NO idea why her left hand appears so large.

And... please don't judge me for the three glasses.

Oh! Wait... maybe that's why the hand appears so large to me?

What's it look like to you??

Uhh... tur yoah?

ETA: This image's score just sank below my 9th highest scoring image...

It's less than two hours before rollover.

Thank you, voters. Ha!

I didn't want to look at it for a long time on my page.

Although... I DO love my sweet and adorable model. She's amazing.

For real.

What a great idea and perfect processing! One of the rare photos that make me keep coming back to this place. Great shot, congrats on a well-deserved blue!

Worthy lace and ribbon.

Thanks for the encyclopedia. - You must "make my day" of at least half of DPC with your usual narrative.

Wonderful entry Lydia and happy it took the blue. I went back and forth on whether those hands really belonged to this young lady; they look out of proportion to her tiny face. I was wondering if it was some illusion with someone else's hands and her hand, lol.

It was 9 from me and no time to bump to 10.
I liked the whole concept, the humour, the processing.
The hands get my complete admiration. Look at Madame Cezanne portrait. Same dress, same hands with a long and enduring storry to tell...
If 3 glasses of wine made you do this, for Pete sake drink the whole bottle!
