 I had heard of a farm near my office that raised longhorn steer. I took a drive at lunch to shoot from pictures. The steer were shy and quickly walked away from me. As I watched them the farmer drove up to me in a tractor. I said hello and said "They are quite timid aren't they?" He saw my camera and asked if I would like to see them closer. I only had a few minutes before I had to get back to work but I jumped at the opportunity. I got a personal tour and had a nice conversation with him. He (William) had lived on the farm since he was 2 years old. He used to raise dairy cows but switched to Steer after his bypass because it was less work. He considers his herd of 30 some as his pets. They are not for slaughter. This particular steer was one of his favorites. John takes care of the farm by himself. It is his passion. You just never know what is going happen when you take a ride at lunch!

This reminds me of my Dad. We used to have a Brahma Bull named "Moo". He would always let Dad pet and feed him. Thanks for the memory, Dad has been gone now 20 years. Bump
