Critique Club Assignment:

Initial: What an impact. This is very dramatic.

Composition: The windmill is framed nicely, and I like how it is eclipsing the sun. The clouds and sky are a beautiful color and are tangible.

Technical: Focus, colors, selection of time of day. All excellent.

Overall: This has wow! The clouds in the distance pull your eye right over the ridge.
I don't think this did as well as it maybe should have, however, I believe it is work you can and should be very proud of!

Nice going!

A powerful landscape image. Real heavy on the blue tones in the sky. But I think that adds to the vibrant strength of the heavens portrayed. The hint of detail in the foreground definitely adds to the photo compared to a black silhouette that would be too stark and boring in my opinion. The blades are a tad close to the center for the rule of thirds purists who would demand more sky and less earth. But this is real life on the wing. And I think you have a done a marvelous job both technically and aesthetically.

I just love this photograph. You've captured a great mood with the clouds and the sun, and the windmill. I especially like the idea that you can see the partial outline of the building in the background. My eyes are focused on the broken sails of the windmill and the cloud and just stay there. Great photograph.

I appreciate how you caught the rays of the sun in the blades. Nice job.

I don't know whether it was possible to get a bit lower - it would have given the windmill more impact.

Cool sky. It's a little overexposed and I think I'd like to see the tower a little further away from the bottom of the frame w/ more land and a little less sky. 6

This is a nice photo but I hope you waited for the sun to set and to see whether you could get an unusual sky along with a silhouette of the windmill!

The windmill is broken? This could be a great photo. But the sky appears to have been manipulated into that blue and it is too much. The bottom part of the photo takes on a bluish tint also. This is too much for me personally. I would like to have seen it in the natural.

This is a good image. The the windmill with the sunlight going through it makes this picture.
