I couldn't resist playing with this... sorry if this offends you, but I had to straighten this out and take out the wire just to see; it just had so much potential! I'll galdly remove these if you want, just let me know.
2 versions - identical except border.

Thank you for all the comments. This was my first photo and honestly, I totally misunderstood the rules.
The only modification I made to this was to reduce the size. I was nervous about being sure not to break the rules so I didn't do any other modifications to it. Thus the crooked horizon.
Ah well, live and learn eh? |

Love the colours, fits the challenge title. Two points which spoil it for me are the sloping horizon & the wire/string between the palms otherwise it's beautiful. |

Very lovely colors and exposure except for the top black. It makes the image look top-heavy. I'd like to see this reworked...perhaps a diff crop. |

I love this photo - I wish the top was not quite as dark so you could see a little more of the trees - great colors - This is my highest rated photo.

Great sunset photo but I don't like how the trees disappear into the clouds. It could just be my monitor but it is a bit too dark. I still like this shot and would much rather be there than here! |

This is the third tropical scene I've reviewed now and I'm starting to get jealous! ;-) Like the others, this is very nice. I do note that there isn't much interaction between the two trees, which tends to give the impression of two separated subjects because they aren't serving a common purpose, such as framing the sunset or whatever. |

Beautiful clear shot, but too much black across the top. Maybe I would have cropped some of it off. |

Very nice photo. The proportions are nice although straightening the horizon would make this an even stronger image. |

I like this photo a lot. The colors and the composition are excellent but the dark sky blending in with the top of the palm trees bothers me. This was of course not your fault, you should have just gotten there a little bit earlier I guess. Also, is that a string between the two trees to hold them up? That can be taken out later with some nice spot editing. Nice job! |

Wish I was there, too! Gorgeous shot, the purples are wonderful. Too bad about the line(?) tied across the trees. |

Impressive photograph with very colorful mood. You've captured a lot of energy in the colors of the clouds and of the sky. Very crisp focus of the trees and the outline of the leaves against the sky. My only question/complaint: what is that line? running from the left of the leaves to the first tree then onto to the next tree? about halfway up. . . a bit distracting |

I wish I was there too. Good use of backlighting, and I like the purplish tone of the picture with the contrasting sunset. |

Just beautiful. You might PS out the extra branches on the left after the challenge. You might also be able to select everything but the black trees and ground to make it a tad lighter. The top of the trees doesnt stand out as well as it could IMO. Excellent silhouettes. Very nice colors and composition. |
