This one appeals to me as well.
The choice of monotone and gritty works for the subject.
Composition takes me from lower left and to the flag. It connects for me. |

smart to take the flag all the way to the end of the frame. compelling composition. the vignette feels natural.

| This photograph may have been more suitable for the silhouette contest. I see the ropes but they are not showing any details and don't seem to be the main subject.I would like it better if there were more open space at the top above the flag. |
