For me this is indeed a silhouette, perfectly set back from the light sky. I also like the lights on the distant shore which look like pearls on a string.
The most appalling feature of this picture for me is the bright rim at the upper border of the wreck, which seems to result from the pp. |

| To me this is more just a dark photograph. A silhouette should be a shape or outline against a brighter background. Your background is marginally brighter in most of the areas, with only the small area to the right being significantly brighter.....this really makes the overall photograph to dark for my taste. |
