Salt Marsh from a boardwalk, at low tide. Those are sheets of ice collapsing with no water to support them. Just for scale, the "pothole" is probably 3-4 feet in diameter.

I really like this. It felt to me like a gigantic crater surrounded by mountains. I wonder if it might really be a much smaller scene, but I honestly can't figure it out so I keep looking and looking.

No hint showing of the freezing winds coming in over Cape Cod bay that practically blew you off the board walk into the exposed marsh!!
