The title can often make or break an image, especially if it doesn't convey the meaning properly.
When I planned this shot, I had intended to give it depth and "reality" by cutting the stem in the two places where it crosses the vase. However, when I downloaded the first few images, the title became apparent to me, and this changed the way I felt about it. I saw it from a psychological perspective: one will do anything to beat loneliness - including creating/drawing an unfinished imaginary friend...and so, the tulip remained uncut.
It was a fun project - the more I thought and planned the vase, the worse it looked. Eventually, I put pastel to paper in four quick scribbles..

What a creative idea! And... well shot!

I wish, though, that you'd neatly snipped through the stalk and leaves to show depth... with the upper two "outside" of the vase's lines still showing.

That would have been so cool to have it seem more INSIDE the drawing! 7 from me. 8 or 9 with the two snips. :D
