Challenge: Bizarre Nature (Basic Editing I)
Camera: Nikon Coolpix 3100
Location: Blackburn Hamlet, Ontario, Canada
Date: Oct 29, 2004
Galleries: Nature, Black and White
Date Uploaded: Nov 1, 2004

GL and I spotted this strange looking remnant of an elderly tree having toppled over after a wind storm. We would have liked to have taken more photos of it but our batteries only gave us four shots. I find the nikon 3100 has very poor battery life. A staff saw a sitting person with their leg crossed in the photo. I saw a few elephant trunks. This entry reminds me of discovering shapes while looking at cloud formations.

The lighting in this is a bit off for me. The limb in the foreground is in shadow, but the open area right under that seems to be very bright. This makes it hard to really see the detail in the "lost limb" area. I see the "nature," but I don't really see "bizarre" in this.

I think its very good B&W... compozition and brightnes but it defenetly loses with size.
