This should have been posted before rollover Susan (it was decided prior to rollover though).
It is with great pleasure that I give you this bit of ImageNation bling as an individual HM from myself. It was one of my top 5 choices but sadly my team members couldn't grasp the artistic beauty in this shot.
I like so much about this image and feel the high key effect transforms the image and allows the viewer to fll in the gaps to tell the Ponies story.
Others have mentioned the lack of pure black especially around the hooves and whilst I agree I still think this adds to the image and it's 'Artistic' value.
Well done Susan, 11th in a 'Best of' and (currently) 3 favs isn't to be sniffed at.

Hello from the Critique club
A very appealing image that meets the challenge well
I get an opportunity to add to my earlier comment, I adore your image it is so beautiful, high key with attitude it has been done so well. The snow is so pure and white the way it needs to be with the pony coming through in subtle greys and what a beauty he is, the action of his foot moving through the snow makes it more dynamic. As I look at it more closely it could be argued that the exposure is a little too much with some loss of detail but having said that I think that is what makes this works so well. This is one of those rare occasions where the loss of detail actually adds another element of mystique to the shot.
I like your image Susan I voted it 9 during the challenge and it has been well received by the voters in what was a very strong challenge, thank you for your lovely entry |

Thanks for the lesson. I struggle to with high key images, and you have provided me with such an excellent example of how to do it well. |

Beautiful! This could be an illustration in a book - I wonder what the story is, and how this pony features? The main character, surely.
I love the high key. |

It is a lovely animal. The high key is a tough sell for me but I think it works pretty well here. 7 |

This could be a fine pencil drawing, I love how the white of the horse blends in with the background :) (+1) |
