Wow. Great photo! The color and clarity are awesome. I'm sure glad you titled it "The Lion SLEEPS" because this fellow is sleeping so soundly that if I hadn't known -- I might have had to be real real sad thinking he was. . . . well, not with us anymore. That is a VERYsound sleep it looks like.

How cute! I like the softness and candid feel of the shot. Very warm tones that really balance out the shot. I can't think of much that you could really improve the shot by...so...great capture!

Sorry, but I feel the subject matter is a tad dull. Maybe next time you can poke it in the eye and run while snappin' pics :) Just kidding. Good focus and exposure. 5.

Well you KNOW I have a weakness for these animals and this one is a fine specimen. The golden light really shows his fur off to it's best advantage and I like how the autumn foliage on the ground complements the colours in his mane. In terms of pose I don't think this is particularly striking as his mouth is somewhat obscured by grass and leaves and there's no eye contact or action to draw us in.

My daughter (8) was here when I voted on this one and she asked:
Ohhh is he dead?
He realy looks that way doesn't he?
