Yeah - I know the contrast could be better...I was shooting through a wire mesh, hence the 'haze' some of you mentioned...tried to up contrast/sharpness through that, but enough to compensate for the haze was too much for the rest of the picture...but he manages to look mean anyway. :) |

Busted background could have raised your points on this great close-up. Too bad you can't edit the curtains out for the challenge. I'd like to see Mr. Frogmouth with the eagle view challenge entries background. Interesting sleepy eyes and mohawk head. 6 |

What a look! It has almost human eyes. Great portrait. I wish the background was plain, or more "natural" 9. |

Odd little bird - I like the way he seems to eye you as if daring you to make fun of him. Nice composition and detail, but seems to be a little misty... shot through a window or a screen? |

I like the background. The vertical lines give a nice contrast to the swirls of the feathers. |

The subject is great and the focus appears to be good. However, there seems to be a haze over the photograph. I still gave it high marks. |

thats pretty bizarre but its also pretty washed out i think that some curve adjustment might have helped.
