 My first entry after 4 months of DPC break, and the very first in a members challenge.

The shot: I stood on a chair, armed with my friends Canon EOS 1D mark II and a EF 24-70mm f2.8 L zoom lens. Her hair is blown by my daddy's high-tech remotely controlled digital fan =)

Lightning: 1x Bowens Esprit 500 flash head with a softbox, aimed from above right. Lastlite gold/silver striped reflector on her left side.
Post process: curves, clone and dodge/burn. Changed eye color from green to blue.

Disappointed... not really. Most of the photos above me are very good. 21st place of 488 photographs. I can live with that. But I still like you're comment very much. Gonna get my self together and do better next time =)

Alveg þrusu mynd. Ég gaf henni reyndar bara 7 enda slær hún mann ekkert rosalega fyrst og ég hafði aldrei tíma til að fara yfir myndirnar aftur en ég hefði gefið henni 8 eða 9, allavega er þetta mjöööööööög flott portrett mynd þó að ég hafi séð aðrar betri.

Einhvernvegin man ég þó að þegar ég sá þessa mynd í einkunnagjöfinni að ég hugsaði "þetta hlýtur að vera íslensk stelpa"

Til hamingju með 21 sætið, hefði hæglega getað endað hærra.

...very beautiful! This is a very nice color portrait. Focus and clarity are awesome. The look on her face is wonderful. Have I seen her before? Love the angle and framin/cropping. DOF is perfect. Nothing to complain about here. Great shot! ~Heather~

... beautiful! I like this, it's a nicely done portrait, the only improovement I can suggest to it is to make the blurry bottom part darker with a gradient overlay. I don't know how much you agree or disagree with postprocessing but that would make that part less distracting and would push the eye more thowards the subject. Good luck!

...a picture of loveliness! very nice classic portrait. things i like: depth of field, smile, details of the eyes. things i don't like: erm, none of it! it's not a deeply original shot, but what it is is very well done and nice and sunny. 8.

Let's analyze this, then rate it.
Composition = 10
Tonal Range = 10
Model = 10
Light setup = 10+
DOF = 10+

Let's sum it up: THE BEST IMAGE I'VE SEEN IN A LONG TIME. ADDING TO FAVORITES! AWESOME AND THANK YOU VERY MUCH. Hope this wins the blue ribbon, and it should! Good luck

great face shot but the body is too distorted and not flattering in this angle - the blue straps draw the eye too much considering that area is not focused

I love how "up close and personal" this photo gets. And the detail in her eyes, her eye lashes, even her mouth is all just perfect. I'm a little undecided about the lower part of the picture, but still find the photo overall to be a strong contender for a top finish. Good luck in the challenge!
