Much like "Misty Morning Maestro" in the Masters' Challenge, this is a fantastic shot with a rare crop that really puts it apart. The lighting is stunning and the capture of the pelicans in flight is incredible.

Excellent sense of light, a great capture, and all round a well executed shot. If it lacks anything, it may be a sense of real sharpness, which would add just that extra bit of impact, but that is probably a subjective thing.

It's like 3 shots in one. Great capture. I love all the elements in this image. The fog, background and the 2 birds in the foreground create a rather surreal, beautiful image. Very well done.

I love the fog and the soft lighting. I like the standing birds and the flying birds. I like that they are different kinds of birds too. Storks, right? Very nice stop action shot. Like the crop also. Gave you a 9.

I have come back to look at this photo at least 20 times. I like it that much. This is tied with one other for my top pic and if one of those two doesn't win I'm staging a protest.

Bumped to 10.

Splendid. Really. The softness, the yellow, the choice of cropping. Excellent work. 9, just-married

This is really nice. I like the dynamics of the flight of the Pelicans (?) which contrasts well with the static cluster of birds below. The foggy background is a perfect backdrop, bright enough to set off the birds, translucent enough to see some detail and break up the monotany. Reflections add depth. Among my top picks this challenge.

Very cool shot. You've nailed a great action shot. I like the fog and the background gulls. Focus is a little soft, but great stopped motion.

Very nice. I spent several days one vacation trying to get a good pelican picture. I was never completely satisfied. This image would have made me very happy. You got both birds in flight and tack sharp. And a bunch of youngsters on the water that just tells a whole different story. I love it. The framing is good (space on the left for the birds to fly into). The composition is right (small birds on the bottom third). The sharpness is good. Hope you do well in the challenge!

wonderful...did you try adding some contrast to increase the black wing-tips and heads, might have been stricking too

I want to like this very much. I do with the reservation of the severe crop. I would love some space, as much as possible over the birds. As is this seems very cramped. I do not know how bright you went above but I would have tried to have leave some more. Great capture and image otherwise.

If you are who I think you are, I am not at all surprised by the breathtaking beauty of this shot. I gave a 10 to the shot I am thinking about, and am giving this a 10 as well. You know, it actually took me a few seconds to realize that this was color. An incredible shot, whoever you are!

Lovely wildlife photograph at a really interesting time of day. I like the way that the light is sufficient to show detail in teh two larger birds, including the rich red of their feet and the way that the fog provides a muted backdrop.

Great flight capture. I love how one has the wings down and the other up. Very soft colors and a dream-like look to it from the fog. Focus could have been sharper but that might have required a small miracle.

Very nice stop motion study. Subtle fog effects seem to make the shot bright. Funny how I keep looking for the AFLAC duck.

What a nice shot! This had to be difficult stopping the wings without blur in the fog.
