Greetings from the Critique Club :)
Hi Kodak...
Children are definitely great subjects for photographs... especially in the 'cliche' challenge.
I like this composition... I think the harsh lighting adds a nice element to this photo... a little bit of surrealism maybe :) It also creates a sense of loneliness and content at the same time... The child is alone, but seems very content with whatever he is doing :) It reminds me of my own early saturday mornings as a child when I would get up before my parents and start my day on my own :)
One of the things I like about this photo is that normal compositional rules don't really apply. The strong perspective of the hallway really works well...
I'm sorry I don't have much that I can add to improve this photo... it looks excellent as is :)
Keep up the great work :)
John Setzler

The light in this photo is nice. It makes the child look smaller than normal which is a nice effect. |

Good idea. The reflection off the wall is maybe a little harsh and the framing could be straighter, but still very nice. |

the glare distracts me a little - it needed to be a little softer light to make this really work - great idea |

This would have been better (imo) if the shot was taken from the same level as the child. The sun is also just a bit too bright on the walls - a softer look (taken a few minutes before or later in the morning) might have given better light. |

This is a good image. the child sitting on the ground makes this image nice. I like the reflecting effect with the sunlight |

I like the idea, colors are warm and soft focus works well. In my opinion there are to many distracting elements, maybe a slightly diferent camera angle would have been better. |

This shot has a great feeling to it. But to me it suffered a bit from the slant to the right. I start leaning in my chair if I look too long. Have you tried a closer crop (maybe just above the fish at the top and taking out the door molding on the right )? Just a thought, but when I covered those areas with a piece of paper, it made for a much better shot to my eye. |

That sun is too bright for me personally. Like the rest of the photo. |

I really like the lighting in the photo. And the child sitting on the ground while being occupied gives the photo a calming effect. Good job. |

Very creative. Kinda' spooky actually - I just watched the Shining the other night on TV! I love how this is just a little off angle - it really adds to the interest. |
