Greetings from the Critique Club :)
Hello Pedro :)
This is a great child portrait photo... The exposure on the child seems a tiny bit dark, but the composition here is phenomenal... The most impressive part of this composition, for me, is the strong diagonal of the shoreline and the stick that the child is holding.
The toning of the image isn't my favorite option for color on this shot, but I really love the overall impact of this shot. I have no real critique for you on this one. I wouldn't change much about it at all... this is worthy of printing and framing :)
Keep up the great work!
John Setzler

Even though it is a nicely focus and well cropped photo. Has great potential with better execution. Best of luck. |

You're right - he chose to forego the actual fishing rod for the piece of plastic he found. He wasn't actually looking at anything as much as he was trying to figure out how to get his feet out of the mud. Thanks for the comments. PM |

Unfortunately it's the wrapper from his new fishing rod...that he wasn't using (in favour of that piece of plastic in his hand). I wasn't thinking photo at the time, otherwise I'd have cleaned it up. oh well...this was my first entry so I'll get better at that kind of thing. Thanks for the comments. PM |

Great shot! Much more than a kiddie snapshot. NIce negative space on top, and great use of Black and White. Good job. Jacko. |

This is a keeper!! I have seen photos like this from professionals. And that's no fish tale!! Love the composition and the fact that the little cutie's feet seem to be covered in mud. |

I like the composition and nice subject. Could do with more exposure and focus seems a little too soft on the child's face. |

Bumping this one up. It's growing on me. Nice shot. I like the diagonal of the shore and stick. Needs a little more range of tones IMO. Not sure I like the choice of color, but it's a cute capture. |

Beautiful! I love everything about this photograph. I love the texture of the water, the way the rocks are angled up across the canvas and, of course, the little fisherman. Wonderfully emotive. He didn't lose his shoe in the mud did he? Oh, I like your choice of duo tone. |

i love this! the sepia tone makes this have a very soft feel. the subject is a little dark, but well done, nevertheless. |

I love this shot! I would have done it as a B&W and not ceapa. still gets high marks from me. (10) |

Splendid shot! One of 4 of my 10's this week. I love the composition -- the way the straightness of the stick comes nicely out of the bottom of the curved line of rocks. I like that the boy is looking down at something on the muddy ground (for small wildlife perhaps) and not at you or out at the water as would be the case in a typical shot. The one thing I don't like is the color you chose for what I assume was a duotone process. However, I can't decide on what color would have been better. Perhaps something a little less red but still similar. Maybe a tritone. I would play with some variations. It is, of course, still quite excellent how it is and one of my favorites. I have a feeling that you'll be receiving a ribbon this week. |

Beautiful pic. The compositin is perfect and I like that the boy seems to be involed in his own thing. Maybe a little less red tone. 10 |
