 I found a toad in the pool. In November. I think this is the warmest it's been in years in November. 70 degrees at 5:30 pm. Oh! I digress.

The toad was swimming and swimming... I guess he'd been doing it all night. I put him on a mesh covered pool float so he didn't have to swim if he didn't want to, and all of the bugs who didn't want to swim either would show up for him to eat. Apparently, frogs and toads think our pool is a smorgasbord of insects since the flood light attracts them all night long.

And... I went inside and ordered this VW beetle from Amazon with overnight shipping (only cost $3.99 more) so he could ride in it in a race against a turtle.

I had the racetrack all made and setup on the kitchen table.


When UPS brought his ride, I went out and found that he'd stayed on the float! I was so happy!

Opened the box. and... The car was way TOO SMALL for him to fit into! Dang. Some might have smushed him in... but I don't treat my models that way.

Anyway, here's my "hurry up and make a background, there's a toad in the sink" photo. :D

I hope it's a humorous respite from all of the "real car" images in the challenge.

Although... I'm the very first entrant after a day and a half! Come ON, folks! Get to your cars!

P.S. Yes, I know that the engine is in the rear on a VW... but that doesn't open on my little model.
Yes, I also know that the sign is way too large. Deal with it. :D
