This was shot in the wetlands behind my home. They are fragile, and protected from development; however, they are not from the surburban runoff that seeps in. The woods on both sides are being developed, and Lord knows what this will look like two years from now. All I know is that I and my kids are spending as much time as possible down there while we can still enjoy it.

post: cloned out the utility lines, levels, brightness/contrast, dodge/burn, sized, usm.

Looks a little oversaturated. Did you try burning the sky? Looks like there are some streaks there.

Does the title refer to the land or are you talking about the photo itself? If this is right out of the camera it reflects (at least to me) what this challlenge, and all advance challenges, should be about. . . not a Photoshop artistic enhancement. I am waiting for some prehistoric creature to walk out toward me! BOL

This is pure poetry in my opinion. Very emotive and lets you decide whether it is nature in its purest most beautiful form or pure desolation of time forgotten.

That is gorgeous. Why is it things that are so desolate and dark can be so appealing? Beautiful colors and mood.
