This is the Hooghly River in Kolkata (a tributary of the Ganges, thus quite sacred to the Hindus in Kolkata).

Everyday local Hindus come to the river to bathe and perform their rituals.

Just preceding the festival of Durga Puja which was 18.10.2015, the Hindus pay homage to their ancestors and offering food and prayer. This is known as Pitru Paksha

Many of the Pitru Paksha rites are performed on the banks of the river

Heartfelt articulation of prayer and good vibes. I feel compelled to look at every person here. The two men in the deepest water seem to bracket the image and the sense of holiness.
