The eye thing is probably what ties it in with the title. The man has protective glasses on the top of his head but decided to take a risk and go on without them. It was obviously a poor idea since he couldn't look at the sparks for long. Thank you for looking.

The only thing that (for some reason) bothers me about this image is the fact that his eyes are closed. Other than that, I find it to be a fantastic shot. Really nicely lit, to put emphasis on the sparks and I really like the way the smoke looks and how your eye is drawn to it. It even lights his face in a natural way.
