Greetings from the Critique Club :)
Hi Myqyl...
This is an interesting study on perspective and shapes, and congrats on second place :) I like this angle, but I also think this particular subject is begging to be skewed! Taking the skylight more radically off-center would create some more impact and allow the leading lines to play a larger role here. I probably would have underexposed this a few stops also to create some more contrast to keep the color from being flat. This image has great potential as a black and white as well... I think that one quick pass with the sharpen filter would also help out quite a bit in this image. It seems a tiny bit soft to me...
Keep up the good work :)

Congratulations on your third place. Though your picture didn't fire my rockets, it shows a different perspective and use of geometric shapes. Good job. |

A ribbon? Yikes! I didn't even prepare a speech :)
I'd like to thank my producer, the kind folks at Sony and my wife for putting up with all this :)
Oh, and the voters :)
But that's just me... |

Wow, I really like the angles, but I don't like the fact that i's pretty much the same the submission as the one in the Windows and doors challenge. |

Hmmmm - very nice capture, but I think I would like it better if the window at the top was not so very bright. Nice capture of detail all around. Nicely done. |

Great depth to this. Looks like a tunnel. Way to go. Nice clean focus. Cropped perfectly. Nice one. It's up there. |

Composition: Great. Can't help but wonder what an off-centre crop would look like..
Technical: Excellent focus, contrast and lighting (didn't see Windows & Doors submission)
Meets challenge: Yes
Overall impression: One of those pics you just keep looking at. 8 |

I really like the way I am drawn into the skylite. I don't find the bright light disturbing and the radiating squares make this a "wow" for me. |

This is a great image. Very well done. It would drive me crazy lining this one up. I really like how the exposure is just hot enough so the crossbars are just starting to blow out. Nice work. |

Maybe at another time of day, when the interior/exterior exposure could be better balanced? It's a shame to have all those lines leading to almost nothing. The walls do give a great dimensionality to the image, and I love the light on them. |

Very cool. The squares at the bottom look a little wider then the ones up top, were you exactly centered underneath? I think it would be a little stronger if it were totally symetrical, but still a strong shot. |

This is one of my favorites for this week. There are some blown out spots in the center of the picture but I am sure these are intentional, and they work very well in this case. I like the way the light is radiating in and the intensity drops off as you get closer to the edges. The lines are very strong and almost give me a sense of motion towards the light. I wouldn’t change anything about this shot. You have made an uninteresting (to me at least) topic interesting.
