 Same barn submitted in my Home Sweet Home challenge entry. The sign says "NO HUNTING". Could never figure out why it said that back when I entered that previous shot. Now I see. Because of the corn stocks, the hunters could hide and shoot at the ducks and geese that regularly fly overhead in the fall. Amazing what people will do.

Mode: RAW converted using DPP with adjustment to exposure by +0.5.

Processed in PS7: (lots of work)
- Digital blending from single image by creating one dark layer and one light layer, as described in Luminous Landscape
- Lots of dodging and burning in the sky (inspired by Heida)
- Saturation (various places and methods: applied to whole image and by using sponge tool)
- Contrats and brightness
- Levels
- Cloned out a rope running between the two posts
- Cropped
- Applied a bright center mask and a dark outer mask

Sent to NI

Back to PS7 for USM (lab mode), Soft Focus via faded Gaussian Blur, resize, border and save.

Probably one of my most worked images in terms of post-processing.

Those idiots who give 1's 2's 3's need to be sorted outIMHO
None of the top 20 and more are not worth lower than IMO 6

the burning of the clouds seems a lot un-natural and a little weird. A bluish-effect should be great, but gray-black look on clouds on teh left of the image and right-mid is distracting

Among my top picks. Dramatic sky is nice. The composition is arranged to force your eye upwards, no matter where you start makes it an "uplifting" photo. Very nice range in colors and levels. DOF preserves the detail of the whole photo. Very nicely done.

Stunning! Absolutely gorgeous. Love the colors, the highlights (though it's probably dodge and burn instead of real, it still looks cool). Composition is good. Sharpness in detail is good where it counts. Good luck in the challenge!

Obviously burned like crazy, and pushed the saturation, but I like it. Very nice contract between the strong colors and the dark clouds. Good luck.

well... after just parusing through heida's portfolio... i would guess that this is another one of hers, or someone inspired by her.... in any case... yeah.. strong image. I really like the wheat, and the large space given to the sky in the image.

Interesting and beautiful sky. The yellows, browns and greens of the foreground are a nice match with the cool blues and grays of the sky. Nice image.

Awesome photo. The thing I noticed while looking at this is that the sign on the building keeps pulling my attention away from a fabulous shot. This is just a minor nitpick overall very well done indeed!
