Hehehe.... It's not a mosquito. A couple of people got this right, but definitely more wrong.

It's a painted lady butterfly:



I went out to one of the gardens at William and Mary to look for bugs. The problem was, they weren't very puzzling.

Thanks for the comments -- and don't squish it!! Painted ladies are very nice. :)

I would have thought with the hairy body, that it was a skipper. But I don't see it being classified as one...?
