 What can I say. Set up a pot and a bag of noodles. They have saved my life when my pockets were empty during my poor student years.

Must be student or starving artist type poverty! Laughed out loud - been there, eaten that! Definitely impoverished when I did! Can no longer eat Ramen...

The fabric is far too elegant to make the "poverty" feeling. But there is a concept in it.

i get the idea, but don't like the lighting, or the background. try to keep it uniform and tight, so as to remove distracting elements from the image (like the table the pillow is sitting on, as well as the wrinkles in the cloth).

Cute idea for the challenge; for me personally, a little too static and out of focus.

Wow this is the way I was thinking of going myself...nothing says modern day poverty like top ramen (24 for a dollar noodles). I actually did not enter as I could not get it just right.

With poverty I think we want to depress the viewer right off. I think this would have done better if it were done in b/w with more light through out and some grain (use a high ISO to noise it up a little). Maybe actually have a pot of water on the stove coming to a boil (a little steam rising) and the noodles next to it half open and part peeking out the end of the bad.

Neat Idea just a little too bright (on pot and noodles) and colorful for poverty. I lower angle might have worked a little better as well.

I was actually trying to pull off the last Ramen (bare cuppard) on the self but it just did work out right.
