great contrasts and sharpness, but I see no poverty hear, just bad luck

I guess I am missing something here; I can't really connect poverty to the image and the quality of the photography is on par with a snapshot in my opinion.

Aha, the toilet is way too clean! You spent all your money on cleaning products and have no money left to wipe your A** with some nice and soft toilet paper.

I didn't get the point of this photo for a minute or two. Newspaper as toilet paper? If so, I don't think this image conveys that message clearly enough. It takes a moment of looking to notice that the newpaper is torn into sheets. (at least for me) Also, given the composition, my eye is drawn to the dark corner in the floor.
