 taken for a burlesque poster photo shoot to help promote a troupe in Casper, WY. My daughter walked into the frame and opened the curtain on Madame Sativa and I caught this moment right as it happened.

You got a quite decent score for this image, but of course, it probably could have done much better. The idea was great but as 21.gif FromDaRock says, the execution isn't up to scratch. Having read your notes, I understand this was a candid moment and not staged, so it explains the lack of focus. For an image on DPC to do really well, it needs to be very sharp and I think this is what is missing here.

The lighting is quite good, but the left side of the frame is a bit blown out which is distracting attention away from the model.

Overall, well done image, but could have been better with a few minor adjustments

Let me start by saying this is a fantastic idea. I love it. Unfortunately, the execution doesn't do it justice. The mom is out of focus and the tops of curtains really take away from the image. The pattern on the curtain is kind of distracting as well. On the plus side, the lighting is good, and both your models did an excellent job. Mom's expression is perfect, as is the way the toddler is pulling the curtains.

Enchantingly cute. Novel presentation wherein the blue plays an important but supporting role, which speaks for the subtly of the photographer. An heirloom.
