Like the idea of this very much. Would like the execution better if the flame had a bit more detail. The matches are perfect. Among my top picks.

This is one of the best photos, a top 10 if not a ribbon. Excellent contrast, lighting, DOF - it looks like all the technicals are right, and the subject matter is right on with an interesting twist.10.

This is a study which required more attention. I am guilty of this, so what i say applies to us both. The idea is superb but you are presenting the eye with one implied line to put together. Why not continue the matches around to form a U. This would give the study a perpective variation and a pleasing line ro bring the eye back into the image. I would have also considered some alternate takes with lighting. You get a 5 for meeting the challenge and 1 more for concept. 6

genius, and an excellent capture of the action to boot. I am thoroughly impressed with this and i think it completely deserves a top 3 slot (haven't finished voting - but so far i'd say this is #1). the sharp detail of the matches, and the lighting upon them, is great. it suits the challenge brilliantly, and is quite frankly, fab. 10.

Wow, great idea! I just wish the photo was sharper and there was more detail in the fire.
