This memorial is located in Eagle Rock Reservation, a 400 plus acre county park situated in West Orange and Montclair, New Jersey.
The following is quoted from: //www.eaglerockreservation.org/
"Eagle Rock Reservation was designed in the late 1800's by, among others, the Olmsted Brothers, the same firm that designed Central Park in Manhattan and Branch Brook Park in Newark. Besides rustic beauty, the Reservation enjoys an unrivaled view of the New York City skyline from the Essex County 911 Memorial. From here you can view the George Washington Bridge to the Verrazano Narrows Bridge."
Thanks for the generous comments.

I gave this one a 9... thought I'd said so... but guess not. Anyway, I love it. I love how "into" it the children are.
Perhaps there's hope for us all afterall. :D
Congratulations on your ribbon, TV!

it's all in the way he is unconsciously leaning on the statue, and the way the statue is unconsciously holding him up. |

Very touching entry, without being overly contrived- that isn't easy to do, so kudos and congrats. |

Very poignant and the two children standing next to the statue add to it. |

I was not familiar with this monument before seeing this. Your inclusion of children and father(?) surrounding the bronze statue of the young girl brings a poignancy to the image that increases it's power. It's relatively easy to photograph a monument. To do so with human context that amplifies the memorial intent, not so much. Terrific entry, among my top picks. |

Very moving indeed! I really like this one. I don't like how the gentleman is cut in half though, I would of cropped him out instead; he unbalances the image. The childrens body language is what grabs me!
The PP is just right also. Top 5 for me. |
