Most weekday mornings I exercise with a good friend. The building his office is in has a gym on the top floor and it has a great view of some of Chicago's best parks along the lakefront. One morning while I was exercising and wondering where in the world I was going to find some good dappled light to photograph, I looked up to see some lovely long morning shadows produced by the trees in Grant Park lining Lake Shore Drive. I was lucky it was sunny that following Saturday morning when I drove back downtown with my wide-angle lens.

There is something about tree shadows on snow that I love, but I typically find it hard to capture the feeling that the scene evokes in me. This does the job wonderfully, with lovely skies to boot! Congrats on a great shot, and finish.

I am really drawn into the lines with the trees and having the sun bounce in the snow is really pretty. The streaks in the sky really make this image special
