I'm sure the flare is going to kill me in the voting. I tried to reshoot this a few times, shielding the lens with my hand, but was unable to improve on what I thought was my best shot - this one. In photoshop, auto levels, tweak with curves, and then final adjustments with the new shadow/highlights feature.

Not sure if the sun adds or subtracts. They certainly are blazing!

I really like the effect with the blown out highlights, but I don't like the purple lens flare.

great pampas grass and nicely black stems to offset the fuzziness against the intense blue but why is this speck of orange not PS'ed out ?

gorgeously lovely. this is brilliantly beautiful. quite frankly, this is inspiring subject matter, expertly taken, nicely composed and is lovely to stare at. i'd be very interested in knowing what camera and lens combo you used for this. lovely and unique. 10

Great example of a good backlighting photo...
I like the solar flaire (is taht the right word?) I think it adds to this photo.

I like the light in the plants and the colour balance but i find the sun distractiong and the purple spots.

The backlit plants would make a cool shot, especially with such a blue sky behind them. I don't really care for the blazing hot spot of the sun though. It hurts my eyes looking at it.

Very nice, it would have improved if you would have cloned out the flare, at least the yellow dot that I find a bit distracting. Outherwise I like this photo very much.

Backlighting pushed to the extreme, but I like it. :)

The composition of complex subjects is usually quite difficult to attain. I think a slightly tighter frame could help. Maybe cropping a bit so that there isn't as much of the stems in middle. It will be difficult to balance the left part of the frame though.

The exposure is brilliant. Especially the fact that the background actually has color, and isn't a washed out grey. Is that the sun? I suspect it isn't, but I have no clue.

I like the effect but the sun seems to dominate the shot.
