lovely stripes and graduated defocus, but it is the thought that counts. I don't think you will get 6, more like 5.7777, but I will give you 6.

No, egrets will get a mid five unless it's something exceptional. A crop might have helped. My guess: 5.52.

I like the 4 different colour stripes, that make a fun background but take too mich emphasis from the heron at the same time

MMMMmmm I think so! maybe more eh? I like the four layers of back ground ,its working in this shot. The bird is on a mission for worms i think! I;ll agree with you 6 is my estimate as well Good Luck

I don't think so. I don't think the pose is regal enough for DPC. He's just walking, not even strutting. The landscape is nothing more than horizontal bands of color. For these same reasons, I'll bump you to a five. DPC will give you a 5.4

The four horizontal layers create an interesting affect here. The central position of the bird takes away from the overall abstract feel. Sort of brings one back to reality, which is ok I guess. My estimate is 5.75

Maybe without the bird this would be a multi-million dollar photo, a la Andreas Gursky, lol. Definitely better with the bird. Six from me, predicting 5.8

Nice and sharp; shows the intense anticipation of the bird well. Possibly cropping the top sky layer and the area to the left would strengthen the composition and direct attention to the subject more effectively. 5.94

I like the detail of the grass and the egret but the background is too blurry for my taste.

6.7 This egret is striking striding across a parfait landscape. A modern graphic sensibility is at work here.
A subjective thought -- if the picture were cropped at the left to exclude at least the ship on the horizon then the bird would be less centered, and so more dynamic.

I like the layers of the green, tan, blue and cyan in the background. Seems a tad overly sharp to my eyes. Not hitting the top of my chart, but a 6 for the things I do like about it.
