Aperture: f/2.5

I picked an image that I felt held a strong composition as a result of a square crop. More importantly, it's a shot that I like due to its perspective and contrasts.

Marvellously clean shot with contrast and lines. A good sense of motion as well.

This image and composition just feel so right. The details balance nicely and the zigzag main path, with walker, ties it all together. The square format works perfectly.

Quite frankly, initially I did not like this image, but it kept beckoning me back. In the end, I think you've done well with the square crop by incorporating a very effective geometric design (the pathway) which, incidentally added the element of repetitive symmetry by virtue of the paving stone pattern. The lamps add their own triangle to the square crop. B&W was a good choice. All in all, I've amended my initial sentiment and now consider it an image worth studying. Nice work: 7.
