I thought this was Don's little Darcy after some sort of Machiavellian eye transplant. and very effective too.

Really sorry this didn't do better, but kind of expected it with DPC voters - the landscapes that came in for ribbons ARE stunning, but I still love this. My favorite of the challenge because it is different. Thanks for sharing the secret of the image ... not that I can see any trees ... ;-).

Thanks Gaby... I focused on the black cat, tripped shutter to fire the on-camera flash and illuminate the cat eyes (flash set at first curtain), put my hand over lens, manually refocused on trees, pointed camera at trees, removed hand from lens for a few seconds, put hand over lens, moved camera, exposed for another few seconds on different part of trees, repeated one more time on trees. Put my hand over lens for the remaining few seconds. Processed with a few Topaz filters to increase contrast. I thought the "creature" looked like "Mighty Mouse", and that's the reason for the title.
