 It's hard to have somewhere like the Beinecke Library within walking distance and not use it for a challenge. It really is an incredible piece of design. In between the concrete latticework is a kind of translucent onyx that lets in a little light, but not enough to damage the historic collection of books in the centre column.

For this shoot I was using a Rebel T3i rented from the university library. The high ISO is very impressively controlled, and the IS on the lens was a big help too.
