 Four lions kill and eat a warthog.

In real life, with the terrible screams and the blood, it’s not like the wildlife documentaries on TV. There’s no discreet soft focus, no artful slow motion sequences. And no music soundtrack ... after the screams have mercifully ended there's just the diabolical snarls, the crunching, and other sounds too awful to describe.

My two companions were left shocked, and sobbing. All of us were very quiet for some time afterwards.

I discussed it later with my friend Cliff, who is a professional guide taking tourists into Kruger in an open safari vehicle.

Cliff said, “Everybody wants to see a lion kill up close. Until they do.”

Oh wow, horrific and amazing. The processing makes it look more frenzied which adds to the powerful impact of the shot. How close were you to this? I guess they already have something to eat so maybe you wouldn't look so appetizing. 10

Grisly subject matter but the natural world captured in all its gory detail. I can see you wanted to emphasise the main elements but it feels as though your post processing is just a bit too heavy handed for my liking but thats just my opinion, anyway good luck

Lovely bleached analog look to this. The heavy vignette isolates your main subject and helps simplify this complex scene. Your composition, with leading lines from the bent legs, pulls us in. Terrific catch! Be careful out there.

A flash of a nightmare. There is an odd beauty to such savagery only that, is it really savagery? The expression of the beast shows that above all it is just following its fate. Or is it just some signs of jadedness after a long fruitful fight?
There are images filled with questions and we stop and ponder and these minutes of consideration are the true measure of a photograph.
